The Milgauss was built for scientists working near magnetic fields, and the 116400 revives that brief with a soft iron shield around the movement rated to a thousand gauss. A lightning-bolt seconds hand in orange crosses the 40mm dial, the bezel is smooth and polished, and the markers are applied rather than printed. Caliber 3131 sits inside the shield. Few Rolex sports models wear this much personality on the dial.
