Rolex Explorer II 40mm 16570 – Black Dial

The 16570 ran from 1989 to 2011, the longest production of any Explorer II, and settled the model into a 40mm steel case with a fixed 24-hour bezel. That bezel and the arrow-tipped hand let cave explorers and polar workers separate day from night when daylight gives no clue. Black or white dials were catalogued, the latter nicknamed Polar, with a calibre 3185 or later 3186 inside.
