The Deepsea is built around Rolex's Ringlock system, a nitrogen-alloyed steel compression ring inside the 44mm case that lets a domed sapphire crystal and titanium caseback withstand three tons of pressure. The helium escape valve handles saturation decompression. It is a genuinely large watch because the engineering demands it, and the Glidelock clasp with Fliplock extension opens far enough to clear a dry suit.
