The 18038 introduced the sapphire crystal to the Day-Date in 1977, replacing acrylic and giving the model the flat, sharp profile it still carries. Cast in 18k yellow gold with a fluted bezel and President bracelet, it runs the calibre 3055 with a quickset date. Bark finishes, hardstone dials and factory diamond settings all appeared across the reference's decade in production.
