The 5231's dial centre is cloisonné enamel, built by bending gold wire into the outlines of continents and firing coloured enamel into the cells between them until the surface levels out. Around it turn a ring of twenty-four cities and a day-night disc, all advanced together by the pusher at ten. The 39mm yellow gold case stays slim because the world time mechanism is built onto the micro-rotor caliber 240.
