The 5159 puts Patek's retrograde perpetual calendar into an officer's case, with a hinged cover, hooded lugs and a knurled bezel edge, so the movement can be shown without a sapphire crystal on permanent display. The date sweeps an arc across the top of the dial and snaps back to the first at each month's end, while day and month sit in apertures and a moon phase closes the bottom. It self-corrects until 2100.
