The 42mm Ballon Bleu in steel is the model at full scale, a thick, rounded case with the guard arcing across the dial to protect the sapphire cabochon crown. Cartier's 1847 MC calibre drives it, an in-house automatic built for the maison's larger everyday watches. Roman numerals swell and taper beneath the crown guard, and the bracelet flows out of the case without conventional lugs.
